Abstract

This paper investigates the feeder arrangement and component placement sequence optimization for a vertical rotary pick-and-place machine. First, the feeder positions are determined based on the distribution of components on the Printed Circuit Board (PCB). Then, a mathematical model is developed to minimize the placement time during the pick-and-place process. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach effectively reduces the time consumption during the placement process and significantly improves the placement efficiency of the vertical rotary pick-and-place machine.
